Rye High Baseball Team Hungry For More Success This Spring RYE, N.Y. - The Rye High baseball team has enjoyed phenomenal success over the last two years, and Garnets Manager Mike Bruno doesn't plan on ending that trend. Bruno, entering his 10th season as skipper, saw his team roll to a final record of 21-3 last year, losing to Byram Hills in the sectional final. Two years ago, the Garnets won the section, reached the state championship game, and compiled a 23-5 record. Nationally prominent illustrator and stamp designer Chris Calle, of Ridgefield, was also on hand. Calle created the show cover, which featured Redding hometown favorite Mark Twain, and was available to autograph copies. Paul Calle, Chris' father, designed the 1969 stamp to commemorate the Moon Landing.
