The site hosted a reenactment of an 18th century military encampment to commemorate the daring midnight assault on the British fortifications at Stony Point in July 1779. Musket, artillery and marching demonstrations were staged, visitors talked to ladies, soldiers and craftsmen in 18th century attire, performing camp chores such as blacksmithing and cooking. Storms Over Hudson River End With Painted Skies, Calm Waters Scattered thunderstorms hit the Hudson Valley Monday night, making for some wind-blown, painted skies after the storms passed. Daily Voice captured some of the skies over the Hudson River, near Cold Spring, on the Putnam/Dutchess border. Skies are expected to be clear Tuesday night for viewing the full Buck Moon, or Thunder Moon. Wednesday and Thursday's temps look to peak in the low 80s, but forecasts call for a rise back into the 90s by the weekend. Thunderstorms are possible for Friday evening.
