Maria Orellana-Galvez paid for $72 worth of ice cream at As You Like It Ice Cream on West Somerset Street with two fraudulent $100 bills, Raritan Borough police said. Orellana-Galvez was charged on Wednesday, Jan. 1 with forgery and theft by deception, police said.

Drunk, Reckless Driver Busted On New Year's Eve: Denville PD A 52-year-old Budd Lake resident was arrested for driving while intoxicated on New Year's Eve in Denville, authorities said. On Tuesday, Dec. 31, officers conducted a welfare check on Jermaine Jackson, who was sleeping in his vehicle which was parked and idling on East Main Street, Denville police said. An investigation revealed Jackson was under the influence of alcohol and he failed field sobriety tests, police said. Jackson was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and careless driving, police said.
