Enrollment At Concordia College Shows Dramatic Growth BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- With its academic year in full swing, Bronxville-based Concordia College has experienced dramatic enrollment growth along with the addition of new academic programs.Overall student enrollment is up 11.5 percent over last year, and the college has experienced a 33 percent increase in total enrollment in the last six years. This year’s graduate program enrollment is up 113 percent. The student population is a diverse group—with 26 percent of students from out of state and 14 percent hailing from other countries, such as China, India, South Korea, Spain, Norway and Italy. A…

Clarkstown High School Students Chosen As Finalists In Speech Contest CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- Rian Farrelly (12th grade) and Sabrina Diaz (11th grade) -- both students at Clarkstown High School North -- have been selected as finalists for the 2015 Japanese Speech Contest. The next phase of the contest will be at the United Nations International School in New York City later this month. Farrelly's speech will focus on why he has chosen to study Japanese, and Diaz's speech will be about her father's life and what she has learned from him.

Two Stratford Police Officers Injured When Garbage Truck Slams Into Car STRATFORD, Conn. -- Two police officers were injured Thursday morning after an erratic driver fleeing police caused a garbage truck to crash into a police car, according to the Connecticut Post. The erratic driver turned into oncoming traffic on Surf Avenue, where the garbage truck swerved, hit the police car and turned onto its side, the Post said.  The driver of the car, Bryce Laister, of Fairfield, was arrested on multiple motor vehicle charges, the Post said.
