A 20-year-old Bergen County man is facing multiple charges after allegedly sexually assaulting a juvenile in two separate towns, prosecutors announced. Walfred Santizo-Simon, of East Rutherford, was arrested on Monday, May 12, following an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Rutherford Police Department, Prosecutor Mark Musella said. 'Not A Pothole:' Emergency Repairs Close Route 80 In Rockaway
Yet another portion of Route 80 is currently closed for repairs. This time, it's not a pothole causing trouble, officials said. Two lanes and a shoulder of the eastbound lanes near Exit 37 in Rockaway were shut down shortly after 5 p.m. on May 12, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation. The closures were caused by a collapsed sewer basin, NJDOT said. Officials noted that the issue is not a sinkhole. A worker died Saturday morning, May 10 after falling into an elevator shaft at a Newark construction site, authorities said.
