North Salem Girl Scout Asks Residents To Donate Books NORTH SALEM, N.Y. -- A North Salem Girl Scout is asking residents to donate books during Curriculum Night Thursday, Sept. 24 from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m. at Pequenakonck Elementary School, 173 June Road.Olivia DeSanto of Troop 2850 is working towards her Gold project in which she aims to inspire kids to read more. Donations may be left inside boxes outside the school or brought to the Girl Scout table inside. Pequenakonck Elementary School is located at 173 June Road.

The Rev. Richard Edward Ploth, 81, Recently Of Dover Plains PAWLING, N.Y. – The Rev. Richard Edward Ploth, a retired minister in the Presbyterian Church, USA, and recently of Dover Plains, died Sunday, Sept. 20 from complications following a stroke. He was 81. Ploth had been a resident of The Grand Nursing Home in Pawling the past two months. Ploth “Dick” was born Oct. 6, 1933, in Oceanside, to Edward B. and Adelaide Combs Ploth. He graduated from Oceanside High School in 1951, and then earned a bachelor’s degree in Latin and Hebrew from Wheaton College in Wheaton, Ill., followed by a master of divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary. …

Chef Anthony Pino will preside over a four-course meal served family style. It will feature produce from the farm. Thirty percent of the event's proceeds will benefit the City Green organization. He was 75.Bohannon graduated from Garfield High School a successful football player (“Tank” # 34), and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1990. He went to Lincoln Tech and owned his business Bohannon’s Auto Repairs in Garfield for 34 years retiring in 2010.  Bohannon was a parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Garfield, and was an avid guitar player who loved all music. Ann Marie Elizabeth Landi, 76, Longtime Fair Lawn Resident FAIR LAWN, N.J. -- Ann Marie Elizabeth (Nugent) Landi, of Fair Lawn, died Tuesday, Sept. 15. She was 76. Landi was born in 1961 in East Orange, the youngest daughter of John and Anna Nugent. She resided in Glen Rock before moving to Fair Lawn in 1961. Landi was a member of the Red Hat Society of Fair Lawn. An avid bowler and cook, she was fond of dogs, especially Golden Retrievers. Ann enjoyed spending time with family especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her witty sense of humor and her lasagna. Landi was a former parishioner of St. Anne R.C.
