Chinese Students Complete Immersion Studies At Berkeley In White Plains WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Thirty-nine students and faculty of Guizhou University of Finance and Economics (GUFE) in China are completing an American cultural immersion program at Berkeley College in White Plains. The 90-day Summer Program came out of collaboration between the college and university. There were classes in English Business Communications, visits to American historical and cultural sites, as well as several business and government institutions in Westchester and New York City. New Rochelle's Iona Men's Basketball, Agency Team On Fundraising Promotion NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – A New York City-based communications agency North 6th Agency, Inc. has announced its partnership for the second season of its “Root to Shoot” charity fundraising promotion with Iona College Athletics and the men’s basketball program in New Rochelle for the 2015-16 season. The agency has pledged to donate $100 for every three-point basket made by Iona at the Hynes Athletics Center and $1,500 for every 100-plus point home game. The $130 million, 450,000-square-foot mixed-use development is currently under construction. Paterson Police: Man Shot Tuesday Has Died PATERSON, N.J. - A 21-year-old city man shot multiple times in the 4th Ward early Tuesday morning has died, according to NorthJersey.com. Mark Eason was released from the Passaic County jail two weeks before the Oct. 6 shooting and had been convicted as the gunman in a 2012 shooting just three blocks from where he was fatally shot, NorthJersey.com said. Some Claims Dropped In Ramapo Police Profiling Case RAMAPO, N.Y. -- The four parole officers detained by Ramapo police in April 2014 have dropped some claims about the incident, The Journal News reported.In the incident The Journal News recounts, the April 21 police stop was triggered by a resident's 911 call describing people wearing bullet-proof vests in an unmarked car. The parole officers later filed a federal lawsuit against the town, Ramapo police department and others alleging there had been racial profiling and their civil rights were violated, the Journal News story said.
