Murder Suicide: Details Emerge In Ashburn Parents' Deaths The deaths of two parents found dead at an Ashburn home have been ruled a murder-suicide, authorities announced. John Sharmoukh, 45, and Mariam A. Farouk Kamal, 31, were found dead at their home on Old Line Terrace just before 9:30 on Tuesday, May 24, authorities in Loudoun County said. Though, investigators have not said who was the aggressor in the slayings. Reports say detectives found the body of Sharmoukh on the the front lawn of the house. Student Stabbed During Fight At Woodbridge High School: Police A 15-year-old student brought a knife to a Woodbridge high school earlier this week and was stabbed during a fight in the bathroom, police said. Prince William County police said students were arguing just after the start of classes on Wednesday, May 25, in one of the bathrooms at Woodbridge Senior High School. The shouting match became physical and a 15-year-old pulled out a knife and threatened a classmate, which started a brawl for control of the weapon. Stafford Police Find Gun, Drugs During Arrest of Wanted Man A wanted Spotsylvania man had drugs and a gun on him when police arrested him earlier this week, authorities said. Johnny Jones, 36, was arrested on Wednesday, May 25, after he encountered Stafford County officers just after midnight in the parking lot of a motel on Warrenton Road, police said. Virginia Has First Confirmed Case Of Monkey Pox The spread of the monkey pox continues to grow in the United States with cases reported in several states. Now, Virginia joins that list after state health officials announced on Thursday, May 26, that a woman has tested positive. Virginia health officials said in a press release the woman recently traveled to an African country where the disease is present. Though, they added, she was not infectious during her travels and has quarantined since returning home. Police Make Bust In Alexandria Bank Robbery Cas A Washington, D.C. man robbed an Alexandria Wells Fargo on Wednesday, May 25, but he didn't get far, police said. Jaquan Royal, 26, is accused of robbing a Wells Fargo at 6300 Richmond Highway just before 5 p.m., Fairfax County police said on Thursday, May 26. Missing Elderly Virginia Woman Could Be In Serious Danger: Police (Update) Police announced they have located Sherrie Ann Smith. She is safe. Earlier, Virginia state police issued a statewide alert to find her because they believed she was in serious danger. Smith, 68, left her home in Virginia Beach at 3 a.m. Thursday, May 26. Manassas Gunman Shoots Cars, Homes: Report A gunman fired bullets into multiple cars and apartments in Manassas earlier this week, police said. The incident began at about 9 p.m. Tuesday when a caller reported a fight in a parking lot in the 10300 block of Seventh Regiment Drive, a police report said. Fairfax Highway Closed To Clear Police-Involved Wreck Scene: Report Fairfax County police have closed the northbound lanes of Richmond Highway Thursday morning as they investigate a wreck that involved a police car, police said. The T-bone wreck happened just after 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of Lockheed Boulevard and Richmond Highway in Groveton. Stafford Woman Drove Drunk To Pick Up Child At Daycare: Police A Stafford woman drove drunk to pick up a child from daycare on Tuesday, May 24, authorities said. Elena Kuypers, 31, was arrested at 5 p.m. after a concerned commuter called deputies about a suspected drunk driver, Stafford County Sheriff's Office said.
