Chicopee Retailer To Close After 45 Years In Business Herbarium, a mainstay in Chicopee since it first opened in 1978, will close its doors for good on Sunday, Dec. 31. The store sells herbal remedies and treatments along with supplements and vitamins. $1M Lottery Win: Brockton Man Turns Keno Winnings Into Massive Jackpot A Brockton man said he used some of his winnings from Keno to purchase a lottery ticket and walked away with $1 million. Ronald DiRamio had won $1,800 when he chose to buy a $30 scratch-off ticket for the “15,000,000 Money Maker” game. It hit big. Man Busted After Pulling Loaded Gun On Officers In Springfield: Police A 30-year-old Springfield man with a lengthy criminal history decided to add to that record when he pulled an illegal pistol on officers on Wednesday, Dec. 27, authorities said. Apparent Homicide Victim Found In Lawrence Basement: DA Police found a body on Tuesday, Dec. 26, in a basement apartment at a Lawrence home during a welfare check, authorities said. The body — whose name was not released, but was reported to be a 21-year-old woman — was found just before 8 a.m. at a home in the 200 block of Salem Street, the Essex County District Attorney said. Newton Man Dies Days After House Fire; Broken Lamp Likely To Blame For Blaze A Newton man who was trapped in a Newton house fire on Dec. 13 has died of his injuries, authorities announced on Tuesday, Dec. 26. The blaze began about 10 a.m. at 125 Allen Ave. One of the people inside escaped the conflagration, but the older man — who is in his 70s — was left trapped inside.
