Man Killed In Billerica Crash Along Route 129 A man was killed in a two-car crash in Billerica on Friday, Jan. 12, that sent another person to the hospital, authorities said.  The crash happened at the intersection of Salem Road (Route 129) and Gray Street just after noon, Billerica police said. Police did not release the man's name.  There was a driver and passenger in each car, two people were OK and didn't require medical treatment, while the other two were rushed to Lowell General Hospital, where the man died, Billerica police said. $1M Lottery Win: Quincy Trust Claims Massive Payday A Quincy Trust has claimed a $1 million lottery win.  MTAJ 23 Nominee Trust of Quincy won playing the “$4,000,000 Diamonds” $10 scratch-off game.  The winner, who was not named, opted for the lump sum payment of $650,000 rather than the annuity.  The winner purchased the ticket at the Big Y at 505 E. Main St. in Southbridge. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for the sale.

(Update) 54-Year-Old ID'd As Man Who Drowned In Byfield River: DA A 54-year-old was identified as the man who drowned in a fast-moving river in Byfield on Thursday, Jan. 11, authorities said.  David Harwood, of Byfield, died after he got tangled in some brush in the Parker River near Forest and River streets, the Essex County District Attorney said.
