Lottery Payday: Springfield Man Wins $25K A Year For Life A Springfield man said he knew exactly how he plans to spend the money he won playing the Massachusetts State Lottery.  Michael Wesley won $25,000 a year for life in the multi-state Lucky for Life game on Friday, March 8. He claimed his prize on Monday.  Wesley chose to take the one-time payment of $390,000 rather than the annuity. First $1M Ticket Sold For New 'Monopoly' Lottery Game In East Boston A lucky Baystater picked up the first $1 million ticket in a new game the Massachusetts State Lottery released this year.  Joel Torres of East Boston won the "$4,000,000 Monopoly Doubler" on Monday, March 11. The winner bought the $10 scratch-off ticket at  East Coast Variety at 67 Bennington St. in East Boston.  The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for the sale.  Torres took the lump sum of $650,000 (before taxes) rather than the annuity. Haverhill Man Busted In North Andover Killing A 22-year-old Haverhill man has been arrested and charged in the killing of Jaeby Ortiz Ruiz on Sunday, March 10.  Derick Moncion is charged with murder in the fatal shooting of the 21-year-old who is also from Haverhill, the Essex County District Attorney's Office said.  Police found Ruiz's body in the early morning hours on Sunday in the area of Riverview Street in North Andover.  Police honed in on Moncion and arrested him on Monday, though they did not provide any evidence or possible motive for the killing.  Moncion is expected to be arraigned on Tuesday…

Police Search For Explosives Underwater After Unexploded Ordinance Found In Needham State police dive teams searched the Charles River on Monday morning, March 11, after two explosives were found there last week.  Magnet fishers found what appeared to be a bomb on March 2 and an unexploded "bazooka" round on March 6 while casting from the Kendrick Street Bridge, CBS Boston reported. $100K Lottery Ticket Sold In Braintree It was a great weekend for one person in Braintree as they won a $100,000 jackpot in the Massachusetts State Lottery.  They won the six-figure sum on Saturday, March 9, playing the "$15,000,000 Money Maker" $30 scratch-off ticket. There are 36 $100,000 winning tickets that haven't been found in the game, along with two $15 million tickets and one $1 million winner.
