Support Swells For Wharton Families Who Lost Home In Fire The community is coming together after a fire tore through five townhomes in Wharton on Saturday, July 26. Two fundraisers have been created to help one of the families impacted by the fire. Keylor Guzman said his family lost everything in the fire, including their clothes, bedding and furniture. The fundraisers are aimed at helping the families secure temporary housing and basic necessities like clothing and toiletries and begin the process of rebuilding. PA Woman Killed In Route 519 Crash: Njsp A 23-year-old Lansdale woman was killed in a car crash on Route 519 on Sunday, July 27, authorities said. At 1:07 p.m., troopers responded to Route 519 south in White Township after a Chevrolet traveled off the round, reentered the southbound lanes, crossed the double yellow lines and crashed into a Ford SUV, Charles Marchan, a spokesperson for the New Jersey State Police said. DUI Driver Hit Two People, One Fatally Outside Newark Elementary School: Prosecutor A 33-year-old Newark resident was arrested after striking two people, one fatally, in a hit and run crash while driving intoxicated on Monday, July 28, authorities said. Nj-based Merck Stock Drops, Layoffs Begin In $3B Restructuring Plan Merck, a pharmaceutical company headquartered in Rahway, announced it will be undergoing layoffs after a disappointing second quarter. In its earnings report, Merck said it aims to save more than $3 billion in cost savings as part of a "multiyear optimization initiative." Man Killed In Atlantic City Shooting Outside Motel: Prosecutor A 28-year-old Atlantic City man was fatally shot on Monday, July 28, authorities said. At 10:30 p.m., Atlantic City police responded to the Martinique Motel at 3029 Pacific Ave. and found Kendell Roseborough unresponsive with a gunshot wound, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.
