ER Worker Steals Cancer Patient's Ring At Capital Region Hospital, Police Say An emergency room employee is accused of stealing a cancer patient’s ring as the woman slept at a hospital in the region. Albany County resident Caitlin Mullaney, age 36, of Slingerlands, was arrested Friday, Aug. 4, on suspicion of grand larceny. According to Albany Police, Mullaney was working as a patient care technician at Albany Medical Center Hospital on Monday, July 17, when she approached a 75-year-old female patient who was sleeping on a stretcher. 'Let's Go Pequa!' Little League Softball Team From Massapequa Park Heading To World Series These young Long Islanders are in a league of their own. After playing a perfect 15-0 season, the Massapequa International Little League softball team is heading to the Little League World Series. Repping the Mid-Atlantic region, the team is made up a dozen girls ages 12 and younger. “We did it! Now we go to the World Series next week,” coach Joe Fackler raved on Facebook. Attempted Murder: Husband Admits Beating, Choking Wife Unconscious Inside Long Island Home A Long Island man has confessed to brutally beating his wife, at one point choking her unconscious, as the couple’s daughter watched in horror and begged him to stop. Tanker Train Derails In Capital Region; Amtrak Service Halted West Of Albany Rail service in the region is disrupted after a freight train derailed, sending several tanker cars off the tracks and shutting down a major highway. The incident happened shortly before 8 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4, in Montgomery County, near Route 5 in Cranesville.
