Sussex County Man Killed In 2-Vehicle Wreck On NY Roadway A 54-year-old Sussex County man died following a two-vehicle crash on a New York highway. The Orange County, NY wreck happened just before 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, in the town of Deerpark, on Route 209 near Third Street, according to State Police. Investigators say David Castner, of Highland Lakes, was driving a motorcycle southbound on Route 209 when he attempted to make a left turn onto Third Street. The top-prize winning Take 5 ticket, worth $20,684, was sold in Hempstead at the Double Diamond Food Mart located at 196 Henry Street, New York Lottery announced. It was sold for the Midday drawing held on Friday, Aug. 11. Take 5 numbers are drawn from a field of one through 39. 'Inexcusable' Surprise Found In Traveler's Carry-On Bag At Albany International Airport For the fourth time this year, security screeners stopped a man from carrying a loaded gun onto a plane at Albany International Airport. Agents made the discovery during a routine x-ray screening of the traveler’s carry-on bag Tuesday, Aug. 15, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced. 'Heinous Crime': Man Who Raped 10-Year-Old At Capital Region Home Gets Decades In Prison A 70-year-old man from the region could spend the rest of his life behind bars for raping a young child. Albany County resident Eric Edwards, of Watervliet, was sentenced to 25 years in prison in Albany County Court on Thursday, Aug. 17. Hudson Valley Fisherman On Hook After Making Hundreds Off Illegally Sold Trout, Police Say A Hudson Valley man is facing criminal charges after he allegedly made hundreds of dollars by illegally selling wild caught trout. Orange County resident Robert Everett, age 55, of Cuddebackville, was arrested in July 2023 for allegedly violating the state’s Environmental Conservation Law.
