Seven New Canine Teams Graduate From State Police Training BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- The Connecticut State Police Canine Training Unit recently celebrated the graduation of the 180th Patrol Canine Training Troop including seven new officers and K-9s. The canine teams are all trained to work patrol, and have been trained in the basic areas of tracking, handler protection, evidence recovery, building searches, obedience, and classroom education. For the K9 teams, the graduation marks the culmination of a 14-week rigorous and intense training course.
