E-Bike Rider Killed By Two Cars After Falling In Ocean County: Police
An Ocean County man riding an electric bicycle was killed after he fell off it and was hit by two cars, authorities said. Joseph Slover, 54, of Whiting, was killed in the crash on Route 530 on Monday, Feb. 26, the Manchester Township Police Department said in a news release. Officers arrived at the scene near Whiting Memorial Park at around 6:55 p.m. Police found Slover lying in the west lane of Route 530 about a quarter-mile east of Crestwood Parkway. Stolen Jersey Shore Mercedes Found In Bergen County, Suspects Wanted: Police
Police in Atlantic County are looking for whoever stole a car and drove it about two hours to Bergen County, authorities said. Longport police said a Mercedes sedan was stolen on the 3300 block of Atlantic Avenue between 3 and 4:15 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24. The suspected thieves broke into a home and took the car keys. 'Awful Event': Newlywed Couple's Home Ripped Apart By Fire In Ocean County
A fire ripped through a newlywed couple's home in Ocean County, officials said. Firefighters responded to the house on Burnt Tavern Road in Brick Township at around 4 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 23, the Herbertsville Fire Company said in a Facebook post. A Berkeley Township man was accused of using a machete to threaten someone at a Monmouth County flea market, authorities said. The 39-year-old Bayville man went into the Collingwood Auction and Flea Market with the large blade at around 9 a.m. on Saturday, Feb, 24, Howell Township police said in a news release. Investigators said the man was confronting a 40-year-old Neptune man over money owed for car repairs. A man was accused of kidnapping a woman in the parking lot of a Toms River grocery store, authorities said. Luis Morenogutierrez was arrested on Sunday, Feb. 25, the Toms River Police Department said in a news release. No age or hometown was given for Morenogutierrez. Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment announced it will end its management assignment at Resorts Casino Hotel at the end of 2024. An Atlantic City man was accused of threatening a woman in front of two children, authorities said. Eric Teasley, 32, was arrested on Tuesday, Feb. 20, the Atlantic City Police Department said in a news release. Jersey Shore Boardwalks Get $100M For 'Vital' Upgrades
Jersey Shore communities are getting $100 million in state grants to make crucial repairs to their boardwalk, officials said. The Boardwalk Preservation Fund money will go to 18 municipalities in Atlantic, Cape May, Middlesex, Monmouth, and Ocean counties, Gov. Phil Murphy announced on Friday, Feb. 23.
