Teen Gunned Down in Worcester A 17-year-old boy was shot and killed in the early morning of Monday, Feb. 12, in Worcester, authorities said. Police were called to the area of Shannon Street just after 3:15 a.m. for a ShotSpotter alert, but officers didn't locate a victim. They did find evidence of gunshots, Worcester police said. Authorities called local hospitals for recent gunshot victims and found the teen had been dropped off and died of his wounds, Worcester police said. Jose Rodrigues, of Dorchester, won the prize playing the "777" scratch-off game. He elected to take the lump sum payment of $650,000 (before) taxes rather than the annuity. 'Fly High In Heaven': Western Mass Man ID'd As Victim In Fatal Chicopee Shooting A 34-year-old man has died of his injuries from a weekend shooting in Hampden County, a report said. Marquis Newson, of Chicopee, was shot on Saturday, Feb. 3, in a parking lot on Springfield Street in Chicopee, the Hampden County District Attorney's Office said.
