Battery Explosion Sparked North Andover Fire Authorities say a fire that began on the second-story balcony of an apartment in North Andover started when a lithium-ion battery exploded Firefighters were called to 99 Edgelawn Ave. just before 6:30 p.m. on July 7. A battery had been left in the sun for hours, causing it to overheat and explode. Man, 80, Killed In Early Morning Revere Fire An 80-year-old was killed early Monday morning, July 15, after a fire tore through his Revere home. Firefighters were called to the 104 Patriot Parkway home at about 5:45 a.m. to find heavy smoke pouring out of the house. Crews were told the elderly man had limited mobility and was trapped inside, the state Fire Marshal's Office said. Police Investigating Triple Stabbing In Holbrook Police in Holbrook are investigating a triple stabbing that happened early Saturday morning, July 13. Officers received a 911 call around 3:30 a.m. about the attack near 166 Longmeadow Drive, Holbrook police said. When they arrived, police found two men and one woman suffering from stab wounds. Man Accused Of Sexually Abusing Child In Berkshire County Busted In Florida: DA A 43-year-old man was arrested in Florida and returned to Berkshire County to face charges that he molested a child, authorities said. Omar Soto-Rincon was arraigned in Pittsfield earlier this week on the charge of indecent assault and battery on a person under 14, the Berkshire County District Attorney's Office said. Prosecutors could not release any information about the alleged assault to protect the victim's identity. Soto-Rincon was being held on a $5,000 bond, officials said. Motorcyclist Killed In Groton Crash ID'd As 27-Year-Old Man Police have identified the 27-year-old motorcyclist who was killed in a head-on crash earlier this week in Groton. Cody Trudel, of Ayer, died after his bike was struck head-on along Boston Road just after 4:20 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, the Middlesex District Attorney's Office said. Investigators believe the driver of an oncoming car in the westbound lane veered into his lane. The 20-year-old Townsend driver of that car remained at the scene. Police are investigating the circumstances leading to the crash. No charges had been filed as of Friday afternoon.
