Manaplan Rabbi Dies Suddenly: Remembering Levi Wolosow Rabbi Levi Wolosow, a 43-year-old Manaplan resident, died while on a family trip in the Poconos on Monday, Feb. 3, Chabad announced. Anash says that Wolosow, the director of Chabad of Monmouth County, died while on a ski trip with his family in the Poconos. Man Thrown From Vehicle Dies In Gloucester County: Police A 34-year-old Washington Township man was killed after he was ejected from his vehicle on the early morning of Monday, Feb. 4, authorities said. At 2:27 a.m., officers responded to Pittman Downer Road and found Christian Benyard, who had been thrown from his vehicle, Washington Township police said. Irvington Man Killed In Two-Car Crash In Edison: Prosecutor A 36-year-old Irvington man was killed in a two-car crash in Edison on the early morning of Tuesday, Feb. 4, authorities said. Montague Township Drug Dealer Sentenced For Weapon Possession: Prosecutor A 29-year-old Montague Township man was sentenced to five years in prison on Friday, Jan. 31 after pleading guilty to unlawfully possessing a firearm with intent to use it, authorities said. Authorities were originally investigating Keanu Alicea last year for running a drug distribution ring in Orange County, New York, Acting Sussex County Prosecutor Sahil K. Kabse said. When police searched Alicea’s residence they found a handgun along with controlled dangerous substances, Kabse said. Alicea also pled guilty to illegal drug distribution in New York, Kabse said.

Man Faces Five Years In Prison For Shooting Victim In Face In Jackson Township: Prosecutor A 26-year-old Freehold Borough man pleaded guilty on Monday, Feb. 3 to shooting a man in the face last year in Jackson Township, authorities said. Michael Vulpis faces five years in prison for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, per the terms of his plea agreement, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said. Cops ID Vineland Man Who Died Days After Being Struck By Vehicle A 35-year-old Vineland resident died on Monday, Feb. 3, days after he was struck by a vehicle, authorities said. On Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 7:24 p.m., officers responded to South Brewster Road at School Lane and found Alexander Coraci struck by a black 2013 Ford pickup truck driven by a 59-year-old Williamstown man, Vineland police said. Coraci was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital in Camden for his life threatening injuries, where he later died, police said. Two Mega Millions sold in Belleville matched four numbers and the gold Megaball in the drawing held on Friday, Jan. 31, winning $10,000. Cops ID Pedestrian Struck, Killed In Ewing A 64-year-old Ewing woman was fatally struck by a vehicle on the evening of Saturday, Feb. 1, authorities said. At 8:53 p.m., officers responded to 725 Parkway Ave. and found a pedestrian, later identified as Tina Mann, not breathing after being hit by a car, Ewing police said. Officers administered CPR to Mann and she was transported to Capital Health Regional Medica Center, where she was soon pronounced dead, police said. The crash remains under investigation by the Ewing Police Department and Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office and no charges have been filed, police said.

Escaped Sex Offender Apprehended After Days On The Run: Njsp A registered sex offender who escaped from custody while being transported in Newark last week has been apprehended, authorities said. Nicholas Voutsas, 25, had escaped from a New Jersey Department of Health medical transport van while en route to a hospital, New Jersey State Police said. Police approached Voutsas at a homeless shelter for men in Brooklyn and he immediately tried to flee, NBC New York reported.
