Man Shot Multiple Times In Jersey City: Authorities A man was shot several times in Jersey City on the early morning of Sunday, July 21, authorities said. At 12:58 a.m., police responded to 260 Bright St. for a report of a man shot, Kimberly Wallace-Scalfione, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office, said. The victim, 31, was already transported to a nearby hospital, where he was in critical but stable condition with gunshot wounds to his  right clavicle, left buttock, and groin region, Wallace-Scalfione said.  The investigation is ongoing, Wallace-Scalfione said.

At 9 a.m., the Whitehouse Rescue Squad in Readington responded to a report of a tractor crashing into a barn, they said in a release. The trailer of an 18-wheeler broke free from a tractor, overturning and then striking the barn, first responders said. Two men pulled up in a black sedan and demanded money from a gas station attendant, Bloomfield police said. The attendant refused to turn over the money and was shot in the leg with a black semiautomatic handgun, police said. The suspects proceeded to flee the scene, police said. The shooting remains under investigation, police said.
