Newark Man Convicted Of Killing Friend After Argument: Prosecutor A 46-year-old Newark resident was recently convicted of murder in the first degree after shooting his friend in the back in February 2023, authorities said. William Whitfield was arguing with his friend, 45-year-old Keni Johnson inside the Bradley Court Housing Complex, Prosecutor Theodore Stephens, II said. Byram Man Gets 13 Years After Violating Probation: Sussex County Prosecutor A 55-year-old Byram Township man was sentenced to 13 years in state prison on Friday, Nov. 8, after admitting he violated his recovery court probation, authorities said. Steven Kristiansen will receive credit for almost four years already served, Sussex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray said. Car Slams Into Tree in Bloomfield, Leaving Two In Critical Condition: Authorities Two people are in critical condition after a car crashed into a tree in Bloomfield on the evening of Sunday, Nov. 17, authorities said. Jets Fire General Manager Amid Dismal Season The New York Jets housecleaning continues. Weeks after firing head coach Robert Saleh, the Jets, who play in East Rutherford and practice in Florham Park, have fired general manager Joe Douglas amid a dismal 3-8 record, ESPN reported.
