Stratford Church Holds Fat Sunday Jazz Concert
STRATFORD, Conn. — First Congregational Church of Stratford will hold its annual New Orleans-style jazz worship service, Fat Sunday, this coming Sunday, Feb. 7. The musical service reflects similar events which occur in New Orleans churches at this festive pre-Lenten season. Headlining the service will be Vintage Brass Quintet of Milford, accompanied by Dr. Joe Utterback on piano and Brian Coralian on percussion. Vocalists Michael Jovovich and Jackie Ray will also perform, as will the church’s senior choir. A special offering will be collected for Back Bay Mission of Biloxi, Mississippi. …

'Take Your Child To The Library' Day Coming To Trumbull
TRUMBULL, Conn. -- The Trumbull Library System will have a "Take Your Child to the Library Day" from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.All activities will be in the children's area. NORWALK, Conn. -- In an effort to proactively identify hazards and vulnerabilities and the steps that can be taken to reduce these risks, the Connecticut State Colleges & Universities has been in the process of developing a multi-campus hazard mitigation plan the last 18 months.This plan includes four state universities, 12 community colleges, Charter Oak State College and the system office. BROOKFIELD, Conn. -- The Brookfield school district will receive a technology grant to help put more computers in classrooms and increase Internet bandwidth in schools statewide.State Department of Education Commissioner Dianna R. Connecticut Audubon Society Bans Drones On Its Land In Fairfield
FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Connecticut Audubon Society announced Tuesday that it has banned the use of drones at all 19 of its sanctuaries because of concerns that they are likely to disturb wildlife and cause an annoyance to visitors.In establishing this policy, the organization believes it is the first in the state and one of the first in the nation to ban drones.
