Mahwah Offers Free Rabies Clinic
MAHWAH, N.J. -- The Mahwah Board of Health announced a free rabies vaccine clinic will be available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Mahwah Municipal Building. Dogs must be on leashes (non-retractable, 5FT or less) and cats must be in carriers. Bring proof of New Jersey residency (required) and prior vaccine certificate (if available). IRVINGTON, N.Y. -- Irvington Middle School students received safety tips from the Irvington police and fire departments recently, as part of the school’s sixth-grade health curriculum.The students spent part of the day Friday, Jan. 15, speaking with Irvington Fire Chief Chris DiPaoli and Police Officers Mike Toolan and E.J. HAWORTH, N.J. -- Award-winning children/young adult book author Jordan Sonnenblick will visit Haworth Public School Friday, Feb. 5 to discuss his books and the life and work of an author.Sonnenblick will be speaking to students in grades 6-8. He has written nine books and has won multiple writing awards. The author has written books for children in grades 3 and up. TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- First Niagara Financial Group announced on Thursday it has closed on a $10 million financing package for an expansion and renovations at the Jewish Community Center on the Hudson (JCC) in Tarrytown.The financing arrangement will consist of a $9 million construction loan and a $1 million line of credit for working capital.
