MILFORD, Mass. – The annual fashion show at the Milford Youth Center has been postponed to next week because of an expected blizzard that could drop two feet of snow.

The 5th annual “Dressed Up, Not Messed Up” fashion show will now take place Saturday, Feb. 16, at 6 p.m. The event's goal is to “raise awareness about underage drinking and help teens become better informed about the dangers of alcohol so they can make healthy decisions throughout life.”

In addition, the center hopes the event will increase teens' self-esteem and attitudes toward their body image.

In addition, the Youth Center will close at 5 p.m. Thursday due to the death of chairman, Paul Seaver. This will allow the youth center staff to attend the wake, which is from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress St.

Seaver, 53, died Tuesday after a battle with ALS. He served as the chairman of the Milford Youth Center Commission from 2003.

The Youth Center will also be closed Friday.

Trash Collection Earlier On Friday

Here is a message from Paul Mazzuchelli, Milford Board of Health agent:

"Because of the potential snowstorm predicted to be coming on Friday, curbside rubbish/recycling will begin one hour earlier on Friday. Curbside pickup will begin at 6 a.m. instead of 7 a.m. Resident cooperation is greatly appreciated by the Milford Board of Health."
